From our social on the 24th of June 2023; we had people participate from all of these locations:

  • Woolwich
  • Thamesmead
  • Plumstead
  • Walthamstow
  • New Eltam
  • Stratford
  • Finsbury Park

We asked you to tell us the kind of events we should organize. These are the responses we received:

  • Drag
  • Movie nights
  • Picnics
  • Walks / hikes
  • Socials
  • Spaces like the event on the 24th of June
  • Board games
  • Meet up events
  • LGBTQ+ nights
  • Drag Shakespeare plays (from 10 year old Ayla)
  • Queer spaces and events for kids
  • Community trips to museums
  • Trips to other cities

We also asked them about the challenges that the LGBTQIA+ community faces:

  • Gentrification
  • Prosecution / homophobia
  • The need to create stronger social identity meetings / groups/events – not much going on locally
  • Anti-LGBTQ+ protests

  1. Hi there,
I filled out your survey and would be interested in joining the community- I’m a bit man living in Woolwich with no friends locally, so contributing to this community would be wonderful! Please feel free to get in touch if I can assist in any way. All the best,
    Ben
